Bitbucket Quickstart

This guide is a template quickstart for Bitbucket.org users.

The Template is delivered as a set of files maintained within the-template repo on Bitbucket.

You can activate the template for your own slideshow presentations simply by adding this set of files to your own Bitbucket repositories. This guide explains how best to do that:

Add The Template To New Bitbucket Repository

By far the simplest way to get started with The Template is to fork the the-template repo on Bitbucket.

Once forked, you will have your own copy of the template repository under your own account on Bitbucket. You can immediately interact with your copy of the template using the appropriate custom url for the template in your new repository.

We recommend that you rename your fork of the-template repository to make it more accurately reflect the purpose of your intended slideshow presentation or brand.

Once you can interact with your copy of the template as a live slideshow presentation in your browser, you can begin to develop and customize the content, styles, and settings for your presentation within your new repository.

You can add and modify files directly within the template directory. Rename that directory. Or copy only the files you want into a custom directory where you plan to develop your slideshow presentation. We encourage you to spend time familiarizing yourself with the Template Basics and Template Mastery guides. The content of these guides will help to ensure you get the most out of the template.

Add The Template To Existing Bitbucket Repository

To add the set of files associated with The Template to an existing repository, you must first clone or download the the-template repo from Bitbucket.

Once downloaded, simply copy all of the files within the template bundle into a local copy of your existing repository. Then push these new files upstream to your repository on Bitbucket.

Once pushed upstream, you can immediately interact with your copy of the template using the appropriate custom url for the template in your existing GitPitch repository.
